Nirvana : Local Anaesthetic 1Y1 / 2Y1 1st Press Vertigo 1971
This very collectable first pressing plays with superb audio with very little interference.  In fact the only 'real' intrusion is one click on S1 - the rest of the side plays with great clarity and depth and the S2 opus is very impressive with exceptional audio from start to finish.  It ranges from Near Mint- to Mint- in my opinion but more of the latter!  The vinyl is very clean also and has been very well looked after.
The cover is often regarded as one of Keef's finest and this one is in excellent condition with only minimal shelf wear.  The original Vertigo inner is in very good shape with some marking around the edges being the most obvious wear.

Visual description
The vinyl is in excellent condition and still has a strong glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Under a strong bright I can only detect a small number of faint hairlines and a couple of minor 'specks' that have no affect on the audio.  There is no groove or surface wear and the run out grooves are very clean also.  The Vertigo labels have no marking / writing but do have some spindle wear.
Play grading
The quiet intro on 'Modus Operandi' has only minimal light static at the start for 4/5 seconds and is intermittent.  The remainder plays with stunning clarity and the segue into the next section is perfect.  The opening vocal section / instrumental have no background and there is just one click followed by a very quiet tick during the If you can't have a... vocal section.  The clarity of sound during the first quiet section is stunning and the following fast paced vocal plays with genuine quality also.  I won't detail each section but the next instrumental around the 7 minute mark is fantastic!  The depth and power of the audio is so impressive and it continues to impress on so many levels.  There is no distortion on the top end and the audio quality is high end indeed.  That is so obvious on the long closing instrumental section - it just could not play any better and it just has to be played loud!  The power and definition of the audio is stunning and the fade out has only the bare minimum of light static at the end.  It's difficult to grade in a way because the vast majority does play to a Mint standard but because of that one click I think Near Mint- is a fair assessment.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'Salutation' is the first part of 'Home' and the percussive / bass intro plays so well with only a couple of very quiet statics.  The 6 seconds of silence has no background and the final part of the intro plays to perfection.  The opening vocal section has no intrusion and the harpsichord (I think!) passages plays with great clarity.  The following instrumental has one tick and is there a hint of distortion as the guitar comes in?  If so it's so minor and the remainder then plays very clearly, very impressive audio.  Near Mint- is again fair.   The intro on 'Construction' plays with stunning clarity and the opening vocal is just as clean.  The next vocal section is superb -  I say that because it's very quiet and yet there is no background at all.  The instrumental is 'as new' and the closing 'choral' type vocal keeps up the standard with no intrusion on the long fade out either.  Mint-
'Destruction' plays with exceptional quality through every vocal and instrumental section.  There are ticks, clicks or pops and only a tiny amount of static distortion (if that's the right phrase) on a few words, seriously it's hardly noticeable.  The audio is deep and strong and Near Mint is deserved here.   The intro on 'Re-construction' has only a minimal amount of mega light static at the beginning, you only notice it if you are listening closely!  As the drums enter the playback is faultless and the first vocal has no intrusion either.  It continues to play with real quality, with great depth and warmth.  The instrumental sections are stunning and Campbell-Lyons vocals are so sharply defined here, they sound multi-tracked and the playback is so strong and clear.  The fade out again plays with sublime clarity.  Let's say Mint-   The very brief 'Fanfare' closes this epic with very clear audio and only the bare minimum of background static.  There are no ticks, clicks etc.  Near Mint-
The Gatefold & Vertigo Swirl Inner
This iconic Keef cover (easily one of his best) is in excellent condition with only minimal wear.  The edges have only a little rubbing and the wide spine is still 100% legible with light wear on the corners and one minor compression.  The line that runs down the centre (caused by the gatefold being opened) has 'cracked' a little in the centre but it certainly isn't obvious.  The right hand corners again have only light wear and the opening edge has only minimal handling wear.  The front cover is very clean with only a thin fade line running down the right edge and it also has some light rubbing here and there on this right edge.  A small crease line next to the spine also.  The back cover is superb with barely any wear and the inside of the gatefold is immaculate with no marking at all.  A very strong example overall.
The original poly-lined Vertigo inner has no side splits but does have some fading / browning around the edges.  One small 'nick' on the top edge also and some light creasing.

Postage & Packaging

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping.  This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage.  The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered.  Any over-payment will always be refunded.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD).  An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known.  Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing.  Please wait for the invoice before making payment and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  Many thanks.

All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection.  They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection.  I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.

The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each.  There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up!  Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
