Description
Vinyl copy of Nirvana’s NEVERMIND LP which has been in my possession from new, bought on release in 1991, having seen the band at Reading Festival earlier in the year.
This is the UK and European version with the paper inner sleeve printed upside down on one side (the monkey picture side) and with the embossed bass clef by the hole in the middle of the vinyl on side 2 (Sonopress version).
Apart from the opening edge which was slit to access the record, the sleeve has been fully protected by the otherwise intact shrinkwrap plastic which still covers 90% of the sleeve, so there is no scuffing to edges/spine/corners or other issues, so I would grade the sleeve as NM.
The rather flimsy paper inner (with one side printed upside down)is in VG+ condition with slight signs of ageing and very minor ringwear visible to the right of the band photo, but there are no splits/tears or any other issues with it.
The vinyl is in at least VG condition on visual inspection but on playtesting there is one skip towards the end of the track Lithium, so this one flaw necessitates the F grading (and significantly reduces the value of the album which I would have been expecting to raise double this asking price for this sought-after edition in this condition without this issue, based on recent copies sold on eBay).
The matrix numbers on the run out grooves are as follows:
Side A: 201 DM F-5272 A-3 C II
Side B: 110 DM F-5752 B-2 C II
The run outs are stamped except for the Roman numeral II at the end of the matrix code which is etched.
