NIRVANA Penny Royal Tea (Pennyroyal Tea) Scott Litt mix NIRPRO UK Promo This is a GENUINE UK promo of Penny Royal Tea (Pennyroyal tea) by Nirvana. This is the only confirmed official and genuine promo known to exist for Penny Royal Tea and features the Scott Litt mix of the track. It was pressed in the UK, but never sent out due to a number of errors on the disc: It is arguably the rarest (and most sought after) Nirvana rarity. This GENUINE copy was obtained directly from a member of MCA's workforce (MCA UK handled Geffen records UK releases at the time) It comes (as it should!) in a clear plastic sleeve, with no inlay, and has the "MCA Promotional Sample NOT FOR SALE" sticker on the reverse. This disc is in MINT condition and has NEVER been played. You will never see a better one! The errors in detail:
1. Pennyroyal Tea is spelled Penny Royal Tea on this disc. Not really an error, Penny Royal Tea is actually the way it is properly spelled in the UK. Pennyroyal is correct in American-English, but this is British-English.
2. The publishing credit is given as Virgin Music Ltd. instead of Virgin Music Inc.
3. The End Of The Music is supposed to be just The End Of Music.(This was the principle reason for the destruction due to legal ramifications with an incorrect music publisher credit.
4. The catalog number is NIRPRO, though the matrix code read NIRPRO1.
Once the errors were noticed the promos were mostly destroyed and the intention was to produce another set of promos. This was subsequently shelved permanently due to Kurt's suicide.
Only a very small number left the pressing plant and these were delivered to the record company and it is thought that only about 30 - 100 copies remain in existence.
