Description
Awesome and rare complete set by the Franklin Mint. The Ormandy Era. Comes in 6 boxes of 5 LPs each plus a separate slim hardbound book that includes list of all included works broken down by composer, soloist, and title. The book has a one-inch diameter damaged spot to the front lower surface, as can be seen in the photo. Otherwise everything in the set is Near Mint, like new.
Signed by Eugene Ormandy, who conducts the Philadelphia Orchestra on all pieces.
These records were mastered by the best engineers as hired by the Franklin Mint, and sound BETTER than the originals on Columbia. They were pressed in the Franklin Mint's legendary clean room on heavy maroon vinyl. You cannot beat any of the recordings here on any other pressing.
Please note, the last photo is of my cat listening to The Planets, disc one of thirty. She approves of the performance but is not herself included in the auction.
