Description
This is the scarce FIRST RELEASE, of "Stan Getz and Bob Brookmeyer, Recorded Fall 1961." It is identified as such by the jacket design, the black and silver Verve label, and the catalog number V-8418. Later releases had different catalog numbers, and many had different jacket designs as well. It has an amazing COVER ERROR. On the back, where a paste-down with information about the Getz and Brookmeyer collaboration should be, we have instead information about the Blue Hodges LP by Johnny Hodges. In other words, when the jacket was being made, the wrong paste down sheet was applied to the back. You can see it in my second photo.
The cuts I test-played sounded absolutely fantastic, and the vinyl looks glossy and virtually flawless in strong sunlight. So I grade it near mint. The jacket is clean and bright with a hint of corner wear and a 1 3/4" scrape along the bottom edge. The jacket is generic. I will combine shipping on multiple orders. For $4.60, I can send you one to three LPs in a package designed specifically for the purpose. Shipping for more than three adds a dollar per LP. I don't use stock photos.
