NOIR

We Had To Let You Have It

UK 1971  1st press

 DAWN LABEL  DNLS 3209

In a press release the recording company stated the following about this immensely scarce album:

'A little while ago a group called Noir signed a recording contract with Dawn records. Although they spent many hours in the studio they never completed their album. At the time of writing we have not heard from them and we do not know their whereabouts.

We feel it would be foolish to just leave the recorded tracks on the studio shelves because the music on this album is very very good indeed. Maybe with this release the Noir will be heard of again, anyway we felt WE HAD TO LET YOU HAVE IT.'

Vinyl Condition:  EX. This is the earliest Dawn vinyl, unbelievably heavy and with a full glossy "as new" sheen. A joy to behold!!!

Extremely hard to find prog/psych  album with stunning songcraft!! Very heavy vinyl in impossible  EX condition. The tracks offered are of unusually high quality. The music reminds me of both Indian Summer and Gravy Train. I played the side with "Rain" twice as it was so compelling and made a recording of it as it is quite unlikely to come across this gem again any time soon. It is rarely ever seen and I doubt that there are more than just a few hundred around. Top drawer stuff ....!!

I'M PROUD TO PRESENT THIS RARE ORIGINAL UK ALBUM: "NOIR" ON THE  DAWN LABEL FROM 1971 !!! . HOLY GRAIL PROG/PSYCH  LP.  THIS SERIOUSLY HARD TO FIND THESE DAYS> THE RECORD IS IN GREAT CONDITION, PLAYS AWESOME ON EACH SIDE, ONLY LIGHT STATIC MAINLY BETWEEN TRACKS AND LOOKS LIKE FRESHLY PRESSED!!! THE SLEEVE IS PLAIN WHITE AND MATT, SEE PICS!  IT HAS LIGHT ADHESIVE DEPOSITS WHERE THERE WAS ONCE A PRICE STICKER BUT NO TEAR. TRY TO FIND ANOTHER COPY LIKE THIS ONE!!!  A FANTASTIC COLLECTOR'S COPY! IF YOU LIKE "INDIAN SUMMER" YOU WILL ALSO LIKE THIS!

Vinyl:   EX.     I have played this in full> There are NO jumps, NO clicks and NO sticks!!! A couple of light wispy hairlines only. The vinyl still retains its deep glossy appearance. There is hardly any background noise. The audio is stunning all the way and this album sounds fantastic and was totally underrated at the time. It totally went under the radar and is now extremely scarce especially as a first issue on the UK DAWN   first PURPLE label!!

Sleeve: VG+.   A plain white printed sleeve that looks generic but really belies its grandiose contents. This is now 41 years old and still very much a hidden prog secret. NO writing, NO tears , NO splits.  Adhesive deposit of sticker to the top right and some ringwear but no damage. Notoriously hard to find. Most of these got discarded as there were no takers.

Labels: EX.  Light spindle traces only. No writing.

This is a unique investment opportunity!!! This album hardly sold at all. Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible so late in the day. PsychProg crossover albums are far and few between and only produced in a small time window between 1967 and 1972.  This album is only going to go one way ... up and up ... until it will be totally unavailable at all for a reasonable price. How many would be left today???

Important :International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 41.00.  Postage to Italy will be recorded at any final auction price. This is due to the totally unreliable Italian postal system. Sorry to all my Italian collector friends. Please wait for my invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise for me.

Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly!  PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST,  if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one!  I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem!  This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees  and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem.  Thanks again!!

This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
