NORMAN CONNORS A-SIDE - ONCE I'VE BEEN THERE B-SIDE - CAPTAIN CONNORS LABEL – EXPANSION FORMAT – 12" VINYL SINGLE CATALOGUE # EXPAND108 CONDITION – NEW & SEALED Norman Connors was a ‘go to’ producer in the 70s and 80s for soul and jazz while recording an impressive array of solo albums. His first instrument is drums, and across his recordings were the introduction of singers who went on to have their own individual careers. Besides people like Jean Carne and Phyllis Hyman were more established names like on “Once I’ve Been There”, the exceptional Phillip Mitchel. On 12”, this song was only ever a promotional release, copies of which now exchange hands at over £100. “Captain Connors” was only ever a 7” single and album length track, a 12” mix created at the time (1977) but never released before on that format until now!! Only ever previously heard on CD, demand for this now on 12” vinyl is off the scale, and on the original label via Expansion.
