Description

Norman Granz' JAM SESSION #6 Original 1st US Deep Groove MONO Pressing LP on Clef Records MG C-656

Tracks include Stompin' At The Savoy Parts 1 and 2 - Silver Trumpet LOGO and BEAUTIFUL David Stone Martin cover art!

Vinyl is NM with NICE gloss, super clean, no marks, looks un-played, comes with white paper inner sleeve which is not original, I think these came with the thin rice paper sleeves that often fell apart or were discarded. Black and Silver labels are CLEAN, no spindle marks. Jacket is graded NM- with very faint signs of shelf wear and slight discoloration from age, NO seam splits or damage, looks barely handled at all. Not everybody agrees about how to grade LP's so PLEASE look at the pics closely, they are detailed and accurate. I think you would be hard pressed to find a cleaner copy. Years ago I acquired a bunch of LP's on the Clef and Norgran labels. They all came from a man who worked at the label in the 1950's, I would assume he was given one copy of everything that was released while he worked there as he had quite a few. He was not a Jazz dude at all and I don't think he ever played any of these records, this LP came from that batch. Please check out my other auctions for more from this same lot.

The line-up on the recording is stunning! Featuring: Flip Phillips on Tenor Saxophone, Bill Harris on Trombone, Buddy DeFranco on Clarinet, Oscar Peterson on Piano, Herb Ellis on Guitar, Dizzy Gillespie and Roy Eldridge on Trumpets, Ray Brown on Bass, and Louis Bellson on Drums.

This is a "no reserve" auction starting at $9.99 so let the chips fall where they may!!!

I grade as accurately as possible based on the standard Goldmine Grading Scale, landing on the conservative side when in doubt.

Insurance required on anything over $75 and Registered mail required where applicable if bidding goes over $75 - Please wait for invoice before paying, I am flexible if shipping rates go high but I CANNOT be responsible for un-insured items.

I'm happy to combine shipping if you buy more than one record. I ship all my records out in professional LP mailers. I recommend Priority USP but you can opt for Media Mail at your own risk. I am not responsible for un-insured or tracked packages, please wait for an invoice before paying.

ALL SALES FINAL.

Please ask any questions before bidding. I'll be happy to answer any and all queries. I can email or post more pics if anybody needs them. If you have under 10 feedbacks please email me before auction end or I reserve the right to cancel your bid, I've had too much trouble from non-paying or flaky bidders. All sales final, item is accurately photographed and described. Buyer to Pay for USPS Priority or MEDIA MAIL shipping to the USA, please contact me with your Zip Code ahead of the auction end for an exact shipping quote. For INTERNATIONAL shipping costs please ask before bidding. I will ship to most places with the exception of Italy and Mexico, unless I get an email from you first. I try to charge exact shipping costs and I add only $1.00 for the professional record mailer. I accept PayPal, Personel Checks and Postal MO's. Thanks for checking me out!
