?1966 U.S. Philips 40361. EX. Here Is a musically superb very rare original u.s. Northern Soul / Popcorn 45 by the excellent 'Phil Colbert'. This very rare Soul 45 has surfaced a few times In the past, but all copies that I have seen have always been the more common white label PROMO issues, this copy on offer here Is the much rarer harder to find Philips stock copy, there aren't too many 45s where the stock copy Is rarer than the promo, but this Phil Colbert 45 Is one of them. Both tracks are brilliant slices of Soul, but for me the B-Side Is just fantastic, what a song, what a voice, simply brilliant. The vinyl has a excellent sheen with just a few very small light hairlines, there are no nasty deep marks, scuffs or scratches, and so both sides play and sound great with just the tiniest amounts of background crackle, this Is almost none at all, the audio Is still really excellent with no lessening In the sound quality. The labels are very good, there are signs of storage wear and marking, but all text Is still bold and clear. The 45 comes In a plain white paper sleeve which Is very good with no splits.
