Description

The vinyl looks to be in excellent condition!!

Very rare 1970 issued Nucleus/Ian Carr album on the Vertigo swirl label with the appropriate original inner.

I use the Record Collector Rare Record Price Guide to grade my records and I also play check them on my Project Debut 3 turntable.

PERSONNEL: Ian Carr,Karl Jenkins,Brian Smith,Chris Spedding,Jeff Clyne, John Marshall.

TRACKS: Side 1) 1916, Elastic Rock,Striation,Taranaki,Twisted Track,Crude Blues(Part1),Crude Blues(Part2),1916-The Battle of Boogaloo                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Side 2) Torrid Zone,Stonescape,Earth Mother,Speaking for Myself,Personally,In my Own Opinion,I Think......,Persephones Jive.

VINYL(sound quality) : EX     Really fantastic clear sound throughout.Absolutely no jumps, repetitive clicks/ticks etc. Maybe one or two barely audible pops on side one.

VINYL (visual quality) : EX   I very rarely give a record an EX for visual quality but I will for this one.I've looked again and again under different light(ie daylight, strong lamplight) but can't see any problems. All  I can see is the odd very fine paper mark(ie from taking the record in and out of the sleeve ) otherwise I would have given it EX+ for visual quality.

OUTER SLEEVE : VG +   This is a gatefold sleeve with a hole shaped a bit like a keyhole in it's centre (die cut hole I think it's referred to as).The sleeve is in very good + condition with no pen marks, sticker residue or tears(save for a very tiny tear about 3mm long at the bottom of the 'keyhole'-see picture). There are one or two creases and there is a little bit of ringwear but  nothing major. The mouth of the cover(where the record goes in and out) is in good condition but does show a few signs of wear. But certainly no rips! The inside of the cover looks to be in VG+ condition also save for one or two minor creases  towards a corner and the edges of the cover. The inside cover contains sleeve notes and a very good picture of an active volcano.(Sleeve was designed by Roger Dean)

INNER SLEEVE : VG +   The inner sleeve has the swirl design on both sides and is cellophane lined. It is completely intact,no rips ,tears or writing etc. There is a very small ammount of what I  will call 'old glue lift' to one side of the edge of the inner sleeve ( where it folds over on itself) but only for  about half an inch or so , it's very minor and could be easily stuck back down if so desired .As I stated ther are no rips in the sleeve( not even on it's edges) it's just a little faded over time . It's not too creased and there isn't much sign of ring wear.

SPINE(of the outer sleeve) VG : Writing and label name/serial number all clearly visible though spine is slightly flattened in parts.

LABELS : EX    Labels to both sides are in excellent condition .Side A has the swirl design and no info save for 'Side A' printed  at the top .Side B contains the track listing and a smaller black  swirl design over a white background. No writing ,smudges or smears,no scuffs and no tears.Hardly any sign of spindle marks. There is a very small ammount of slight roughness (to the touch) under a very small part of the Side A label (ie the swirl side) which seems to have been there from manufacture as it is under the label, but it is really hardly noticeable visually.

NUMBER IN RUN OFF GROOVE: Side A-     6360008    1Y//2(then an upside down triangle)420     11       5
