The third in the celebrated "machine" trilogy alongside The Pleasure Principle and Replicas, Telekon was first released in 1980 and became his third consecutive UK number one record, trifecting Gary Numan as one of Britain's most prized cyborg exports, well before took the industrial plunge. It pushed his icy synthpop toward boom-boom-clap, conductive rock territory, folding in guitars, strings and grander electronic arrangements - best characterised by their eerie, winding melodic turns, bold for radio at the time - that would echo through later artists from Trent Reznor to Damon Albarn. The 45th Anniversary edition here unearths four unreleased recordings from the first sessions, such as 'Like A B-Film' and early takes on 'I'm An Agent' and 'Please Push No More'.
