NUOVASERIE N. 4 - ARCHIUNO - ITALIAN LIBRARY Lp. Music by ELVIO MONTI and NEVIL CAMERON. Original Italian promo pressing on the FAMA Label (FM 10), from 1973. Another superb and unusual Library by these maverick arrangers. Shockingly overlooked in the past by collectors in general (or, just never heard by most, including us, until now :) The overall ambience is yet again, strange and psychedelic with a rhythmically impressive, avant-garde undercurrent. Put it this way, this Fama pretty much destroys Armando Sciascia - Violin Reactions on Vedette label. Experimental lounge played by a funk and jazz tinged trio featuring psych strings by a solitary violinist (hence the Archiuno title) who also doubles up on cello (or both, via overdubs) over drum breaks / fender bass or double bass. Early '70s contemporary classical nuances with electric harpsichord / organ / tambourine / percussion and other keyboards too. Groovy / surreal / obsessive / industrial / distressing / weird and introspective are just some other pertinent adjectives to describe this Library. We have recorded several trax for our soundclip opening with the beautiful LA SCOGLIERA DELL'AMORE followed by the baroque jazz trio funk of NERVOSI then other important themes including SPIRALE 2 / SOLUZIONE FINALE / PENSIERI ED IDEE / FUGA DA SE STESSI etc. Fresh sounds that rival some of the biggest Italian Library in the experimental genre. Great for leftfield DJs and if you've never heard this one before, expect to be blown away ;) There's some pretty dark and acidic themes that come in later on our mp3 and we finish up with the oddball, country fried funk of BLACKFOOT DANCE. Compositions with syncopated or freestyle drumming / trippy loops and samples galore. Yet another recording that slays via headphones too ;) Mood music created for an unknown Italian soundtrack / television or radio show. On the same cult label as Giuliano Sorgini - Scappo Per Cantare / Maria Teresa Luciani / Carlo Pes - Musicorama N.11 et al. Seldom comes up for sale now. Striking sleeve artwork with pop art inspired imagery. Rare Library Lp!!! Full tracklisting: FOR GLORY / LA SCOGLIERA DELL'AMORE / NERVOSI / SPIRALE 1 / SPIRALE 2 / SPIRALE 3 / PENSIERI ED IDEE / BLACKFOOT DANCE / FUGA DA SE STESSI / SOLUZIONE FINALE

Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG

Vinyl is in shiny, strong VG+ condition overall regardless of hairlines / faint scuffs / a couple of tiny scratches and some old pressing marks that straddles a small part of "Spirale 1" and "Spirale 2" theme. Light surface noises but these Fama pressings were never Cinevox quality, in general. Some soft pops / ticks in places (as you can hear on the soundclip). Mini notation in pen to one side of label (see photo). The laminated sleeve is in VG+ condition overall regardless of any creasing / corner or edge wear (mostly to the back sleeve). Some corner crushing but again, mostly visible to the back sleeve side (see photo). Some laminate lifting down the front left spine side. A small section of laminate has peeled off at the open side and sleeve also has the usual speckled dirt spots cum blemishes these Fama / iller / Pegaso / Jubal and Ritmi e Canzoni label items all seem to have. Perfect spine. Some ring dirt marks / ring creasing from storage. Mini notation in pen beside "Nervosi" track title on back sleeve. Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Library Lp!!!
