Description

Available here is an original 12" vinyl record by Nurse With Wound - Insect and Individual Silenced. It was issued in the UK by United Dairies in 1981 and bears the catalogue number UD.08.

The track listing is …

Side 1 - Track Listing
1. Alvin's Funeral (The Milk Was Delivered in Black Bottles) - 27:18

Side 2 - Track Listing
2. Absent Old Queen Underfoot - 21:12
3. Mutilés de Guerre - 6:53

Vinyl Condition - Excellent - Record is bright and clean with one or two minor surface marks but no worrying scratches. Having listened to the record, I can confirm that there is no jumping, sticking or clicking, with almost no background crackle present.

Sleeve Condition - Excellent - Light signs of edge wear/corner rubbing/stress lines but no splits or serious creasing. Possibly issued with a single sheet insert originally, which is not present here. Large pictures of both sides of the disc and sleeve are available on request.

History - Apparently a limited issue release of 500 or 1000 copies (sources vary the numbers) the album is best known for founding member Steven Stapleton’s long held disregard for its contents, later asserting that he had also burned the master tapes. Although Stapleton has since recanted his belief somewhat, in my opinion this is probably the most troubling piece of industrial avant-garde experimentation, as you’re ever likely to hear or encounter.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It is not my intention to profit from postage. If possible I use good clean recyclable material but I also buy bubble wrap, brown paper, packing tape and glue and all items are well wrapped and protected before posting. Items are also weighed and postage calculated before I list at auction and a small percentage of the charge does go towards packing costs. See "Me" for further general despatch information.
