Comments: Obscurity! One of a handful of releases on a smallish NY label, part of the Jul-Mar group. The ‘Jul’ part comes from JULisu Dixon, who you will also find as composer and arranger on this 45. A mid-tempo chugger with a Southern Soul feel on the top-side. Don Covay turns up as the co-composer on the B-side, a Funky Soul-rocker with strains of both Gary U.S. Bonds and Johnny Otis’ ‘Hand-Jive’ – Great with a couple of break-like sequences!
Eddie Long has previously recorded as Bobby Long and his Satelites cutting the same song ‘Mo Jo Workout’ for the Vegas (#500) label in 1964. Vegas, despite the name, was a New York based label.
