Description
Nagaoka MP-200
This is a superb cartridge, being the Nagaoka MP 200 moving magnet (MM) phono cartridge. This is the cartridge, not just the stylus, and not the plug and play head-shell.
This was a Christmas present, but I already have one, and no need of a second, so it is new, boxed, unused and I have discounted the price, too! They usually are available from Japan or Germany, and for around £429, with some UK stockists selling them.
This is a high quality audiophile grade model that delivers supreme levels of clarity, detail and dynamic contrast, presenting records in a way you'll never have heard them before.
The MP-200 features a superfine polished special elliptical diamond stylus, as well as a powerful samarium cobalt magnet, capable of drawing out even the finest details and musical nuances.
There are some really good videos on this cartridge, and just how it compares to others, and wins! The first is a shoot-out between a number of other cartridges, and the MP-150. The second is pitching the MP-150 against the MP-200, and I found both videos and the presenter really useful!

This is moving magnet, not moving coil, so, please, since this cant be returned, due to it being a stylus, check that you know what you need with your set-up. Maybe message me and we can double check. This does not have the 'plug-and-play' headshell, so you will be using your own headshell, as I do, now, with what I currently have. My set up is a Technics SL1200 MK2 and the original headshell. Setting up is tricky, but if you know what you are doing then you will want to do it properly, and use the shell designed for your deck, too. Again, any questions, ask and we can check it all before purchase.
Not sure about Royal Mail any more, with strikes, but it may be sent with them, as they offer Guaranteed Next Day Before 1.00pm, and value up to £1,000, so maybe them but will check out DPD, too. The value is what pushes postage up, sadly! Let's discuss before purchase, as we have NY and Bank Holiday Monday in the way, and I am not back until December 29th anyway.
