Description
This is my minty copy of the 2014 Ltd blue vinyl colour edition of Nas seminal debut.
NB: this IS the uncensored lyric mastering.
I have played the album only once basically to playtest and compare having first made it immaculate from going through my Degritter ultrasonic cleaner. Indeed this copy plays with minimal noise throughout and nothing nasty to speak of at least on my newer microline tipped cart which im finding very quiet in the groove anyway! One thing to note is that like with EVERY SINGLE EDITION of Illmatic that Halftime and to a lesser extent Aint Hard to Tell were not only recorded on the hot side in the first place but are then bunged at the end of a longish sided LP, well there is a recipe for inherent IGD and sibilance and this copy doesnt avoid it. With my old elliptical this would no doubt be unpleasant. With my newer AT VM95ML and compared to my four other editions this is no longer something to bother me. So YMMV on the sound quality depending on how capable your needle is at traversing a narrow and hotly cut groove.
The jacket is as new and remains in the factory shrink with identifying stickers front and aft. The inner sleeve is poly lined and as new too.
Reason fo selling is to reduce from 5 copies down to two. Please see my listing for the even rarer gold and numbered Concerto release if you want the rarest Illmatic of them all!
As it stands this is also very rare. Two jokers on ebay want £100 and....... £300+ (!?!?) respectively for their copies while im happy to break even on my Dcogs splurge when i grabbed this 5yrs ago.
A superb, super clean copy as good as if not better than new.... buy with confidence!
