Condition: -
COSMETICALLY:this set is in only a VG condition, This is mainly because the original stiff paper sleeves were never replaced with lined sleeve. each side has numerous scuffs and marks. But these are ALL light surface marks and sleeve scuffs, you can see what I mean by the photos below of the various sides (Please note: these photos are taken under A harsh halogen light, this was so I could get the scuffs to show up in the photos, in normal light you can see some of the marks and scuffs, but they look worse in the photos then in real life). All six sides show these marks, about the same amount on each side. There are some light spindle marks on a few of the labesl, but not bad. And with the box you can see the top has come apart from the bottom, the paper hinge has split all the way through, the front cover shows some shelfware. One of the paper sleeves has been ripped.
SOUND: there is some light background noise on all six sides. This is all static-y dust type noise. I did not hear any popping or ticking. there are no real scratches on any sides just the surface marks I wrote about above. I don't have a professional or even really good record cleaner, so these are uncleaned by me. I think a proper cleaning on a good system would get rid of most, if not all, of the background noise.
Musically, the violin sounds wonderful, to my ears the recording doesn't sound like it has lost any of its original sound, to me the music sounds great.
This is a chance to get a good deal on a good sounding copy of this set, cosmetically not in any kind of minty condition, but sonically, after a proper cleaning, I don't think you will be disappointed.

PLEASE READ THESE PARAGRAPHS ABOUT SHIPPING AND POSTAGE COST:
As you may have noticed lately, the shipping costs you see in auctions has really gone up! This is because in the last year the Post Office has not only raised its prices, it has also changed the way it determines how much it will cost to ship a package. The old way was based on the weight of the package, not the size of the box (unless it was very large). But now both the weight AND size of the package determines the cost of shipping.
As an example: Take the Priority Mail cost of sending from California (where I am) to New York two packages that each weigh exactly 2 pounds. The first box measures (in inches): 12x12x12, the second box measures 13x12x12. It will cost $7.50 to send the 12x12x12 inch box, but it will cost $25.05!!! to send the 13x12x12 inch box, even though they both weigh the same! Yikes! And if the box were bigger it could cost even more!
The reason I write this is to reassure you that I will always do my best to find the least expensive way of getting you your item. I will list the best shipping options available and I will use the smallest box that I can SAFELY package an item in, if it will save you money. (I pride myself on my packing, and I won't cut corners when it comes to careful packing. Check my feedback). This goes for foreign buyers as well as those in the USA.
And you pay ONLY the actual postage cost. I never charge for packing materials or charge a handling fee. And if I do happen to make a mistake in how much it costs to ship an item and you overpay on postage, I will ALWAYS refund the overcharge.
