Nazz Rare Sth African ST LP VG+ '68 Atlantic ATC9150 Psyche Garage Todd Rundgren
Rare Original South African LP released in 1968 on Atlantic Records. Cat: ATC9150.
Though many of their American peers interpreted the sounds of the British Invasion in different ways, the Nazz's take on jangly guitar pop and nascent heavy psychedelia turned into a blueprint for the American Anglophile power pop guitar bands that followed in the '70s. Which is why the Nazz's eponymous debut album is still a fascinating listen, even if portions of the record haven't dated particularly well. Ironically, one of the songs that hasn't aged well is "Hello It's Me," a ballad that Todd Rundgren later turned into a contemporary standard. It fails here because its dirgey arrangement meanders something that can't be said for the rest of Nazz.

There are some spindle marks on labels. Record has some light scuff marks and light scratches that cause some light crackles in parts and a few light clicks start side 2 and is in VG+ condition. Cover has light ring wear, some small surface tears around edge and some of the cella glaze has come away along spine, there are also a few small tears on spine and is in VG+ condition.
Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.
