Description

On the Beach is the fifth studio album by Canadian-American musician Neil Young, released by Reprise Records in July 1974. This copy is a Terre Haute “No Stereo” First Pressing – meaning simply that the word “Stereo” does not appear on the labels in this early variant. ["variant 2", see notes, below.] 

The vinyl, which shows only some rubbing from the paper sleeve, is in Very Good Plus VG+ condition.  The original cover, which has the floral print inside, shows some light ring wear.  It is Very Good VG condition.  The original inner sleeve has liner notes on one side by Rusty Kershaw (who plays slide guitar on one cut and fiddle on another), and individual cut info on the other.  It is in Very Good VG condition, having only one wrinkled corner and no splits, stains, etc.

Earlier Terre Haute variant, "STEREO" not printed on labels. The ® logo is present, next to the :r logo, slightly off centered.

"T" etched in runouts denotes Columbia Records Pressing Plant, Terre Haute, pressing.

Floral pattern printed inside cover. Issued with custom-printed inner sleeve with credits and notes.
Some copies came only with a company inner sleeve promoting the Warner / Reprise Loss Leaders.
