Neon Hearts - Venus Eccentric/Regulations - Neon 001 - 1977

Based in Wolverhampton, the Neon Hearts were a glam/punk band who cut their teeth playing pubs in the Midlands and the North in the late `70s. Lyrically intelligent they were more melodic/musically adventurous than most of their peers and are one of very few bands from that style/era that I still regard as worth listening to !
This was their first single, recorded at their own expense and released independently by them when they were in their late teens.
Many people regard this as their finest moment, which I personally don`t agree with, but each to their own.
After the band went their separate ways, bass player Paul Raven made an international career for himself in numerous bands. Other members were involved in a variety of other bands/projects including The Circles, Vael Deary, 21C and the excellent Silhouette Theatre.
CONDITION
The famous oversized card sleeve is clean, intact and undamaged. It has a bit of light creasing and a touch of light wear to the corners.
The vinyl shows no scratches or scuffs. I`ve just listened to both sides and both played through with no problems at all . No pops,crackles, clicks, jumps or any other defects.
The label is clean and free from marks. I`ve read that on the initial pressing the labels were put on the wrong sides (i.e. the label for `Venus` was placed on the side that in fact had `Regulations` on it and vice versa). I don`t know if that`s true but in this case each side in fact has the correct label on it.
