Description
The New Lords –Radio/T.V. –Columbia (1971 Germany)
Condition: EX/VG (stamp and cover wear)
The Lords were (and still are?) the longest serving German Beat group. Although their best (R&B and some near Psych numbers) was also offset by some more radio friendly comedic sing-along stuff. By 1971 the band had split and the short-lived New Lords incarnation only featured Ulrich Gunther from the original band with younger cohorts in tow. They managed to put out an LP under the new moniker along with a single culled from that album, however the two tracks presented here were exclusive to this release. The coupling of T.V. and Radio makes this a concept single of sorts. Heading in a more Heavy direction T.V. is a real corker. It is Euro Hard Rock of the highest order and sits nicely next to Propeller (featuring Achim Reichel and Herbert Hilderbrandt from that other German rock dynasty –The Rattles) The A side is also superb but in a more radio friendly manner but with plenty of twists and turns including some surprising backward guitar. It is a shame that The New Lords didn’t continue in this promising direction as this line-up of the band split in ‘72

Grading. I don’t use the term Mint. I don’t believe that records manufactured over 30 years ago, even if unplayed, can be called mint.
Grading: Record/Cover
EX: Means either “near mint” to some light marks with hardly any noticeable noise. Sleeve has no or only minor wear.
VG: Means means some light background noise and more pronounced marks which do not affect the listening experience in a major way. Sleeve may be creased, minor discolouring, the odd fraying, some ringwear, seam split and perhaps some writing.
G: Means noticeable clicks or pop, may have scratches, but doesn’t skip or jump. Sleeve may be ripped, tape repair, large writing, sticker removal damage etc...
Fair: Not a pleasant listening experience, the disc is damaged, just a stop gap before upgrading. Sleeve is badly damaged, not one to frame on the wall...
Poor: I don’t sell records in poor condition
Postage: I offer reduced postage if more than 1 record is purchased: There was a significant increase in Royal Mail charges back in April, I have had to adapt postage prices accordingly.
All records sent out in professional mailers with 2 stiffeners. Records removed from sleeve if housed in picture sleeve.
Insurance strongly recommended for high priced items and compulsory for packages of a value of over £80. Insurance added at cost. I retain proof of postage for all items.
Payment: UK= PayPal or cheque (item sent when cheque has cleared). Overseas =PayPal only
Thanks!
