Grading: VG++, due to a minor discreet scratch on the first revolutions on the A-side, otherwise M-
Label Condition: VG++ due to drill-hole, otherwise as new (see pic).

Comments: Legendary New Orleans drummer June Gardner leads his own band on a couple re-workings of songs made famous by others. A-side has a great version of “It’s Gonna Rain”, originally recorded by Sonny & Cher and put on the B-side of their break-out hit “I Got You Babe” back in 1965. Sonny (Congress man to be) also cut a better, and even less known, version of the song with the group BJ & The Profits the same year (Uptown 705). B-side is an excellent version of the Memphis classic originally recorded by the Mar-Keys, where Gardner’s drumming prowess comes through better than on the A-side.
The A-side was comped on the UK LP “New Orleans Funk: The Original Sounds Of Funk 1960-75”
