Includes four 7-inch records (UAMG 113-A: HAPPY ENDINGS; UAMG 113-B: THERE GOES THE BALL GAME; UAMG 113-C: BUT THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND; UAMG 113-D: THEME FROM NEW YORK, NEW YORK) with individual sheet music for each song, a 12-inch record including all 16 songs from the film with accompanying staple-bound book of sheet music, and a synopsis of the film itself. The film, New York, New York was directed by Martin Scorsese, stars Robert De Niro and Liza Minnelli, and features original music written by John Kander composer and lirics by Fred Ebb. The theme song, "Theme from 'New York, New York," gained popularity after the film's release when it was covered by Frank Sinatra and remains one of the best-known songs about New York City. Records and sheet music are in near mint condition, housed in a near fine box showing only minor shelf wear and one split corner seam. We are selling the classical music LP collection of the singer, songwriter, and poet Rod McKuen. He received many promotional copies of albums and bought thousands of records, beginning in the 1950s. He had a high-end turntable and stereo system and with so many records, he didn't have time to play most of them more than once, if that. We are offering mostly high-grade copies, with defects noted.
