The Newport 1969 festival was yet another showcase where Jimi Hendrix showed his brilliant mastery and control over the electric guitar, second to none.  This poster also bears an attractive watercolor portrait of Hendrix himself, and this print would look beautiful in any home, or be an important part of any poster collection.  The other thing that should be noted about this festival is the sheer diversity and quality of the acts that performed…The Byrds with their folk rock, Marvin Gaye with a touch of R & B, Ike and Tina Turner with the soul revue, Johnny Winter and his blues guitar, CCR with their brand of southern style rock, and Jimi Hendrix, the greatest guitar player of all time.  All these factors added up to one historical festival.
