Vintage 1970's Apple The Beatles Second Album ST-2080 with Cut-Out Hole.   This is the American Capitol Album Release that contains the #1 Single, "She Loves You", as well as the flip side of that single, "I'll Get You."  This record also includes the song "Thank You Girl" which was the flip side of Two Beatles Singles "Do You Want to Know a Secret" and  "From Me To You",  "Please Mister Postman", "Roll Over Beethoven", "You Really Got a Hold On Me", "Devil In Her Heart", and "Money", which are songs from the British LP release "With The Beatles", "You Can't Do That"  a song from the British LP, "A Hard Day's Night", and last but not least are "Long Tall Sally" and "I Call Your Name which are from The British EP "Long Tall Sally".  Legend has it that the FAB FOUR thought that Capitol Records was butchering up their British records and this is why the "Butcher Cover" was included on the US Capitol release "Yesterday and Today" another American record that included songs from various LP's, 45"s and EP's.  The Beatles Second Album is possibly an example of why John, Paul, George and Ringo might have felt this way as this record includes songs from 1) Two different Single 45's, 2) One English only EP release, and 3) Two different British LP releases. The example listed for sale here is as mint as a record and cover can get.  The shrink wrap is still on the cover, the cover is immaculate as is the record.  See pictures. As for the cut-out hole, when LP records were sold to record stores, manufacturers would physically cut the corner, punch a hole or add a notch to the spine of the jacket of  records returned from stores unsold; these "cut-outs" might then be re-sold to record retailers or other sales outlets for sale at a discounted price. This Beatles LP has such a hole which is kind of unique really.  The Beatles Second Album was already a million selling record when Apple Records was founded so the cut-out hole is not unheard of.  There is no UPC or barcode on the cover which somewhat verifies the age of this record, (1971-1975).  Enjoy Bidding on this great Fab Four Collectible and piece of music history.  I Ship Fast and Safe using Custom Made LP Shipping Boxes!
