Nicholas Drain 'Nick' Lowe (born 1949) is an English singer-songwriter, musician and producer. Lowe has recorded a string of 15 well-reviewed solo albums over the years, of which this is the first. Along with vocals, Lowe plays guitar, bass guitar, piano and harmonica. He is best known for his songs including Cruel to Be Kind, So It Goes, I Love the Sound of Breaking Glass, The Beast In Me (for his father-in-law Johnny Cash) and many others. He is also well-known as a producer with Elvis Costello (first 5 albums,) The Pretenders, Dr. Feelgood, Graham Parker, and others.
