Description
What you are going to hear: Chelsea Girl is the debut solo album by the German singer Nico, produced by Tom Wilson. It was originally released in October 1967 and was recorded following Nico's collaboration with the Velvet Underground on their 1967 debut studio album. The title is a reference to Andy Warhol's 1966 film Chelsea Girls, in which Nico starred.
Much of the album features instrumental work and songwriting credits from Velvet Underground members Lou Reed, Sterling Morrison, and John Cale. "I'll Keep It with Mine" was written by Bob Dylan, while three songs are by Jackson Browne, who contributed guitar. Wilson added string and flute arrangements against the wishes of Nico.
Condition: This 2012 reissue copy is in Excellent condition. The vinyl has been thoroughly cleaned (SpinClean) and played through on both sides to ensure quality playback. The playback was extremely clean. It is a 180-gram pressing, feels very sturdy and looks great on both sides.
The album jacket is also in wonderful condition. The photos, art and text on both sides are very crisp and clean. The edges have been very well preserved as well. Only very modest signs of wear appear on the corners of the outer sleeve.
