Description
Otto e mezzo
here is the soundtrack lp from the 1962 movie directed by Federico Fellini
Music by Nino Rota
The movie needs no intruduction, it's one of the all time classics of European cinema. As is the music by Nino Rota, full of famous earcatcher melodies that are even frequently used in tv commercials. So without doubt one of the most important film scores of all time.
An album was originally released in Italy in a nice gatefold cover and in the USA. What even advanced collectors do not know is that an album even came out in Germany in 1963, as a mini print run on a supertiny label called "International". Soundtracks on this label belong to the rarest pressings in Europe, just think of the EP from the western "The Black Eagles of Santa Fe". Why are the records from "International" so rare? It was an independent label that did only a few records - and these were only poorly distributed to some very few shops! The print run was probably not more than 200, and most remained unsold due to poor distribution. So to find a copy of this version is like a lottery win. If you want the music or an original lp, you can buy the Italian or US pressings. But you will very unlikely find this version again. Promise!
