Description
NIRVANA - BLEACH. Original Tupelo pressing original of 300 made, UK pressing. That's where the good news ends. This record is in bad shape, let's not be under any illusions. There are so many defects I will use bullet points:-
- the vinyl is virtually unplayable. Scratched all over the place, jumpy, visibly scratched, wretched surface noise. I think there may be one or two tracks which do not jump. It may benefit from a professional clean, but I'd imagine not
- On the lables there are heavy spindle marks and some weird marks which look like they could be beer (seriously) but the labels are not torn in any way. In fact at first glance it looks like a nice record, but insepct up close and you'll see what I mean
- the sleeve is battered. The worse defect is that Jason Everman has had his chest cut out. The story is that my mate's mum wrote a message on the sleeve to my mate (who I bought this from), and he was pissed off with this to say the least and cut it out (see second photo). Poor Jason, Kurt didn't sound too keen on him and now my mate's Mum has written on his chest and it has been cut out
- the rest of the front sleeve has large creases on the corners and is generally badly worn
- There is ringwear on the rear and front of the sleeve
- The rear of the sleeve also has a message in biro etched into it. Someone must have written a note on paper over the sleeve, and it is imprinted on the sleeve. It reads "GRANT, had to go to a band practice....." the rest I can not decipher but there is a bit more. I have tried to capture this in the third photograph
- large creases also on reverse of sleeve
There you go. Apart from that there's nothing wrong with it. I have no idea how much this is worth and therefore throw it out to the Nirvana collecting massive. It has one thing going for it and that's that it is NOT one of the fakes.
