Description
This auction is for a very nice copy of the rare pink marbled vinyl pressing of Nirvana's debut LP Bleach. Please note that this is not the recently re-issued version. (Technically, I believe the marbled pink is from the third pressing, aka the first Erika.) There were a bunch of different colors issued in this pressing, and the pink marbled color is one of the rarer (though there are a couple of colors that are even harder to find).
Because I've had it for so many years, I hesitate to say with certainty that it's only been played once, though that's all I can remember--but a visual inspection confirms that the number can't be much higher than two or three times, because the vinyl looks brand new. There is the lightest of spindle marks on one side's label to confirm that it has been on a turntable at some point, but the record is very close to mint. The sleeve has not fared quite as well and shows its age mostly in the form of creasing found generally around the edges (from 2 to 5 small creases can seen on any given edge), and unfortunately they are somewhat conspicuous on the glossy black surface of the sleeve. Also, faint ring wear is detectable when held just so relative to the light source. However, there are no major defects or seam splits. The various flaws are documented as thoroughly as possible in the accompanying photos, so please check them out and bid with confidence.
Money issues are forcing me to sell off my records, and I'm pricing this to move, with a very low reserve relative to what it's gone for in other auctions in similar or worse condition. Please note that I'm not a dealer and these are my own records bought new and lovingly cared for over the years.
Thanks for checking out my auctions. Coming up for auction shortly will be my original pressing copy of In Utero on clear vinyl, so watch for that if you like collectible Nirvana vinyl.
Shipping for this item will be the actual calculated cost of the service you select, plus $5 to cover packing it properly (a necessity when shipping expensive vinyl) and insurance.
When shipping vinyl, this is my packing process:
1. Records are removed from the outer picture sleeve and any printed inner sleeve, and placed in standard plain white sleeves (the type with die-cut label holes in the center on both sides) for travel outside the picture sleeve. (This is to prevent seam splitting in transit).
Printed inner sleeve and/or any other insert material goes back in the outer sleeve for travel.
2. Everything is then placed in a heavy-duty poly bag, and taped up securely (so that the contents will fare better in the event that the package gets wet or is exposed to weather en route).
3. The item is securely sandwiched between very sturdy 12.5"x12.5" 3-ply chipboard stiffeners (these are primarily to protect the corners of the picture sleeve from damage in transit, but also make it less likely that the entire package can be bent or warped, while also adding a layer of protection against damage from sharp objects).
4. If you're receiving fewer than 5 standard LPs with sleeves, your item(s) will be packed snugly and shipped in a well-sealed quality LP mailer box. For any orders requiring a larger box, bubble wrap will fill any space not consumed by the items, to ensure that there is no movement of contents once the box is sealed up and on its way.
Satisfied buyers are more important than any individual sale, so I strive to be accurate and fair in all steps of the process: in listing and pricing an item; conducting a transaction; preparing a sold item properly for safe transit (as described above); and shipping it promptly. I try to respond to messages, questions, and concerns quickly and to communicate effectively. However, if after receiving an item from me, you feel less than satisfied for any reason, please contact me to discuss before posting negative or neutral feedback. I strive to ensure that anyone who wins one of my auctions is happy with his or her purchase, and will take any reasonable actions that necessitates.
Please check out my other auctions for more rare and collectible items. Thanks for looking and good luck!
REVISED 9/12/2014 to add a more color correct photo of the vinyl. Someone pointed out to me that the original pictures are skewing the color towards a peachy color, when in fact the record is closer to bubble gum pink. So the very last photo should be the one that shows the color correctly.
