Description
Here's an amazing rarity. This LP is legendary in the psych / prog world (and was even before Kurt Cobain named his band Nirvana -- though that increased interest in the record).
It truly is one of the strangest LPs ever. A trippy, hippy, proggy, spacey journey about a "lonely boy" who meets the girl of his dreams and winds up King and Queen of a lost paradise. Somehow. All set to a wild and wooly (and incredibly entertaining) soundtrack.
I love this record -- and have owned several copies over the years.
This one is the rarest. It's a mono promo -- in a stereo sleeve. The mono version (which has a lot more punch than the stereo mix) is sometimes found this way -- as Bell evidently sent out mono and stereo promo copies -- possibly to both the press and record stores -- but didn't have mono sleeves to accompany them. The "promotional copy" text is marked out on both sides of the label.
It plays beautifully. The nicest mono copy I personally have ever heard. Super-clean -- with just a hint of noise here and there. And I am a stickler fro this stuff.
The sleeve is also in very nice shape. A bit of ringwear and edgewear -- but a strong VG++ / EX.
I've loved having this -- and occasionally playing it (on a high-end turntable with a great cartridge, of course) -- but it's time for me to pare down a bit.
I hope a real prog fan gets this! Good luck.
LP will be packed ultra-carefully and shipped via USPS Priority Mail.
