Description

Here is the original 1970 stereo LP release of Jimmy Buffett's debut album "Down To Earth" from my personal collection. Stereo Z30093. This album is extremely rare, there were reputedly only a few hundred produced. The vinyl is Near Mint (M-). I have carefully visually graded it -and- I have played this LP once through on both sides to verify its performance. This vinyl plays like new with no surface noise that I could detect on my Technics direct drive table with an AT 440 MLa cartridge on it. There are a few tiny sleeve marks on the vinyl (1/4" square sections where with a critical eye you can see a slight swipe from the sleeve) but there is nothing that affects the surface noise of the album. This LP spins nice and flat too with no warping! It has clearly been played only a very few times over the years and it is sure to satisfy a critical listener. The sleeve is VG. No ring wear, but has one cut corner, about 5/8" removed neatly, on the top right (see pictures). The two lower corners are slightly frayed and the back has a few 1/2" wide scuffs towards the bottom of the image.

Just to clarify the Near Mint visual and playback-verified grading I am giving the vinyl LP, here is the Goldmine definition, which the condition of this LP is consistent with:

NEAR MINT or NM: Sometimes dealers use M- (Mint Minus)grade.
We define NM and or M- as being almost mint. This grade should be, for the most part, the most widely used grade for records that appear virtually flawless. Virtually flawless records are not perfect. A very minor scuff and very little else can appear on the vinyl. This will most likely have occurred during packaging, or removing the record from the inner sleeve but had been handled with extreme care. It should play without any noise over the flaw. The flaw should be very hard to see. If a scuff covers more than a few tracks yet can be seen, it will not be NM, however it may come very close. Use strong judgment when evaluating the vinyls condition.
