Click to view supersized image On scarce 78rpm label Nordskog 3002, Cyclonic Eva Tanguay sings "I Don't Care." This single-sided disc was recorded in Los Angeles in 1922. The record label bills her as "America's Greatest Eccentric Comedienne."
Eva was born in Canada in August of 1878 (although some report 1879). She died in Hollywood in January of 1947. Eva was not particularly pretty, nor did she have a really good voice, but just listening to her on this original record (her only one, by the way), is something special.
The record itself is in excellent to excellent-minus (E to E-) condition. There is an edge chip that goes well into the grooves, however it ends during the band introduction, well before Eva begins to belt out her song.
