Norman Clayton and the M.G. Anderson Chorus deliver a rousing and reverent gospel experience in All Hail the Power, a full-length LP recorded on Cross Records (Jackson Records Inc., Jackson, Tennessee). This powerful gospel collection features orchestral arrangements and a large men's chorus, with Clayton’s rich baritone voice leading each sacred classic.

Norman Clayton possesses an exceptional baritone voice. He sings not only with a deep spiritual sensitiveness but with effortless ease and with perfect diction. As Director of Music at First Methodist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, his seven choirs are composed of over 325 people. The M.G. Anderson Men's Chorus, which backs up Norman in three selections of this album, was organized during the latter part of July 1962 and serves as the Sunday evening choir at First Methodist Church. The Men's Chorus meets for breakfast and rehearsal each Wednesday morning at 6:30 A.M. A very enthusiastic group of approximately 50 men enjoy fellowship together at each rehearsal. The group has appeared in two public concerts, one in Memphis and one in Jackson, before almost 2,000 people. Norman Clayton and the chorus have been widely acclaimed throughout West Tennessee by people of all denominations.

Norman has had a varied career as a singer and choir director, actor and concert singer, television and radio performer. After graduation from Moline High School, Moline, Illinois, he joined the Army and became the soloist and master of ceremonies with the famed Army Ground Forces Band of Washington, D.C. In 1947 he entered Augustana College and became soloist with the Augustana College Choir. It was because of his association with Dr. Henry Veld, Director of the Choir, that Norman became vitally interested in choral directing. In the years following his studies at Augustana College, he has been choir director and minister of music at three large churches and is currently Director of Music at First Methodist Church, Jackson, Tennessee. He attended Juilliard School of Music in New York City for a year and a half... winning the New York Singing Teachers' Vocal Contest... appearing in two Broadway shows... guest soloist with major symphony orchestras... a Carnegie Hall recital... and a staff member of several of the top radio and television stations in the country.

Outside of music, his interest is captured by sports, especially competitive sports such as football, basketball, baseball and track. It is not unusual to find him and one of his youth choirs actively engaged in football or basketball practice as part of their choir rehearsal.
