Description
For sale is Norman Granz' "JAM SESSION #1," Clef MG C-4001, MONO, 1953. With Charlie Parker, Johnny Hodges, Benny Carter, Ben Webster, Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, others.
SOUND: VG+ or better It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Overall the sound is beautifully clean! The only caveat is the first minute or so of each side, which have a little bit of crackle on them. Even then, it's minor... overall beautiful playback!
VINYL: VG+ or better The vinyl appears in very nice condition. There are a couple faint, hairline marks either side, completely superficial. The outer edge of side B has a few tiny marks (I could not "feel" them) which might explain the slight crackle described above. The record is very heavy vinyl with flat edges. The labels are baby-blue Clef "trumpeter," in beautiful condition, with a couple faint spindle marks.
JACKET: VG+/NM The jacket is in beautiful condition, solid all-around with nice corners. Heavy cardboard. The front and back covers are very clean and unmarked, with only minimal signs of wear or aging. A tiny "clef records" sticker lower right front, and a tiny "MG C-4001" sticker back upper right.

This 67-year-old record sounds great! The vinyl is in very nice condition and the jacket is lovely! Buy it now for $33.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
