Description

Trumpet player logo. Trumpet player has a red jacket against the beige color of the label, deep groove. the box includes 3 heavy vinyl records and a Program for the 12th Tour of the J.A.T.P. The program has 18 pages + the front and back cover. The details of the performance are listed in the Program along with pictures of the artists and text. The Program is in near mint condition. With reference to the records: Part 1, "Jam Session Blues" features Oscar Peterson, piano; Buddy Rich, drums, Ray Brown, bass; Barney Kessel, guitar; Flip Phillips, Lester Young, tenor sax; Benny Carter, alto sax; Charlie Shavers, Roy Eldridge, trumpets. Part 2 (Side 2) feature a trumpet battle between Roy Eldridge and Shavers and includes Benny Carter, alto sax. This is followed by a Ballad Medley of 5 tunes featuring the horn players. Part 3 is the Oscar Peterson Trio an 2 tracks. Part 4(on ther reverse side) are 3 tracks by the Oscar Peterson Trio. Part 5 (Side3) is the Gene Krupa Trio with Willie Smith, alto sax, Hank Jones, piano on 3 tracks. Part 6 (on the reverse side) has a 4th track with the Trio; a drum battle between Krupa and Rich; a concludinjg finale, "Perdido", with all the artists and features Phillips, tenor sax. David Stone Martin cover art. Box: Mint(-) Intact with minor aging. Records: Mint Visually all records show no wear. Possibly never played. New in appearance. No surface noise.
