Northern Soul 1962 Bell Acetate Louis Jordan/Terrell Prude ONE OF A KIND?

  This one-sided metal acetate is one of the first pieces of my collection. It was given to me backstage of a Ray Charles concert in Los Angeles in the fall of 1965 by the great Raelette Margie Hendricks. She sang the duet with Ray in 1958 on "The Night Time Is The Right Time", "Hit The Road Jack" and many other Ray Charles hits. In 1962 Ray Charles was in the process of launching his first label Tangerine. This acetate was cut on September 5th, 1962, destined to be 45s. Louis Jordan's Workin' Man/ (The) Meeting was released in late 1962. This 45 does quite well on ebay. The Terrell Prude hard driving instrumental funky organ 45 (that sounds similar to Charles), "Frog Eyes/ Princess and  was released in early 1963. I have no accurate idea of how many acetates were made. Maybe five? I think there is good reason to believe that this early Northern Soul acetate is the sole survivor and therefore ONE OF A KIND.  I invite my fellow collectors out there on ebay to write me a note if they have a copy and I will mention it in a following remark. Without  data, one can only surmise why Charles cut two artists in one session. Save money? Same band? The Louis Jordan 45  "Workin' Man" was the 4th record issued by Tangerine (926) in late 1962, Terrell Prude's "Frog Eyes" was his 6th in early 1963. As an early artifact of Northern Soul and Ray Charles' Tangerine Records this impossibly rare acetate would make a fine addition to any serious collection of r&b and soul.                                                                                                                                 Condition: Label is somewhat aged, intact, no writing. VG +. Acetate plays through fine without any skips or sticks. The usual acetate crackle is there.  Surface scratches produce sporadic pops and ticks but the music comes through bright and clear.
