Graded using the Goldmine grading system. We grade very conservatively.

I have provided several photos of the actual record. You will notice that on the label there is a little watermark above the word Fishing and no marks on the record. There are very very light marks on the record on the Running In The Rain side. There is absolutely nothing that should affect the listening quality. It has been well cared for but has been listened to in the past.

This record is in beautiful condition. RARE SOUL SINGLE. AMAZING talent. Great listening. Soul as it should be.

There are a couple of utube videos out there and downloads of the songs are pretty easy to locate if you want to hear the music. I don’t want to suggest any specific one just in case a site isn't safe. We have not played this record. It is in such good condition I don’t want to take the chance.

 Research has been difficult on this item. Although the Turner Bros. had tons of success, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of obtainable information on line.  I do know that this 45 is very rare. If you are “in the know” when it comes to Soul/Funk artists The Turner Brothers I would love to hear the facts about this group. I have pieced together some information that I was able to find about their music, but it’s merely snippets from here and there.

I did find that this is the only single off of the Turner Brothers Act 1 album.

The Turner family was originally from South Carolina. The moved to Anderson, IN when there sons were young (The Turner Bros.)

The Turner Bros. recorded on Indy labels and later had recordings released on bigger labels such as Chess and Atlantic.

According to information shown on an old ebay listing of an LP that sold last year, the history of the Turner Brothers goes something like this:

THE TURNER BROS. It all started back in the late 50's with Melvin, Calvin and Allison singing with their father James in Columbia, South Carolina. After moving to the Indianapolis area in 1963, Allison and Calvin decided to pursue a career in R&B . Their early success came in the late 60's while singing on the ATLANTIC and CHESS labels. Then the group started to grow. Four younger brothers, Rudy, Charles, Harrison and Paul joined the band to make it more of a family affair. Rounding out the group now, in addition to these talented brothers are James Dixon, Michael Boards, Rudy Ross, Charles Cotton and Ted Patterson.

Ranging in age from 12 to 27, you would hardly think there is 16 years of ladder climbing behind this group. They have appeared all over America with such stars as the CHI-LITES, OHIO PLAYERS, STAPLE SINGERS, RUFUS THOMAS, OTIS REDDING and DAVID RUFFIN.

I merely copy and pasted the above info. It is pretty much the best I could find and although I have no way to confirm the information it sounds like the person knew a little something about the group. It was on popsike if you want to see it for yourself.
