In the early 1970s, a series of party records, each featuring a west coast nightclub comedian, were issued by Laff Records
Each was usually marketed with two covers- one, with a cartoon or drawing of the featured comedian, safe to display in a family record store, the other, cheesecake with nude or topless models. Even the latter came with removable adhesive stickers over the model’s more “interesting” anatomical features. These were to be “stripped” off by the buyer.
Perhaps it is appropriate that I offer these as a pair:
Laff A-5007. Courtin’ on a Mule, Sam Nichols, comedian. Minor marks on the record surface, some spindle trails. Perhaps E+, as there are no apparent scratches. The cover seems unworn but there is a hole punched at bottom right. There are two slightly different colored rectangles where the censorship stickers were removed. The model is Michelle Angelo.
Laff A-5015. Kay Martin at Las Vegas. Kay Martin, comedian. The record appears unplayed. The cover has very minor rubs to the seams and there is a hole punched at bottom right. There is a slightly different colored rectangle where the censorship sticker was removed.
The covers are bright, crisp and shiny. Nice copies.
