Hi all, for your consideration we have:
Title: OK KEN? BY CHICKEN SHACK
Cat No: 7 – 63209 – MONO (I think)
Issue: Original 1968 issue on the BLUE HORIZON Label
Vinyl Condition visual: The vinyl grades as VG-; the vinyl has retained a little of its gloss and sheen. The disc is clean overall but does have numerous light scratches and handling marks on both sides. Nothing too serious at all and all commensurate with age and with the grade allocated.
Vinyl Condition Playback: VG; Quite a silent run-in and thereafter it play’s back with some mild static and occasional mild clicks and pops in places; however, nothing too drastic at all and all being commensurate with the grade. It’s more evident between tracks and less so when the music kicks in. Despite this, the lessening in sound quality is minimal. The vinyl lays flat on the turntable and it plays through with no skips or jumps.
Label Condition: VG; as you can see in the photo a few light spindle marks; however, there are some small white blemish spots on the side 2 label. Other than that there is no or other damage and all text is clean and legible.
Cover Front: The cover grades as VG; the laminated cover has numerous creases in the laminate mainly but not exclusively at the edges. A more prominent crease is at top left. All edges are rubbed as you can see in the photos but there are no splits. Some ring-wear is evident at the front.
Cover Back: As for the front really, some laminate creases and ring-wear is evident. Inside, the gatefold is clean and intact, however, a name is written in red felt pen on the left half of the gate-fold.
The spine: The spine is intact but is rubbed in many places and therefore not all the text is legible.
Corners: All corners are bumped, rounded-off.
Summary: Despite the odd bit of static, clicks and pops as mentioned above, this is essentially a very playable album and one that will more than fill the gap until you can locate yourself a better one.
Postage: With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no-nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
