ORANGE HIGH SCHOOL DRAMA II CLASS -- Panther Echoes -- hard to find, original 1969 U.S. album.  For fans of Real People and Outsider Music artifacts and late 1960's Spoken Word LP's, this is a completely unknown private press LP recorded in 1969 by the Drama II Class at Orange High School that captures an  audio collage/documentary sound portrait of typical teenage life at the school.  Some of the material appears scripted but most of it was apparently recorded live using portable tape machines, including teachers busting kids for smoking in the bathroom, teachers busting kids for being late, rumors of which boy likes which girl, pep rallies, song snippets (late 1960's sunshine pop by RCA band The Match), parents fighting etc.  Overall effect is very surreal and stream-of-consciousness, and reminiscent at times of the spoken word pieces on The GTO's/Zappa LP about high school life.  A really fascinating slice-of-life portrait of high school, unlike anything I've heard in this genre -- what makes it really impressive is that it was created and edited together by the students themselves, meaning it's their version of the high school experience, not some adult's or teacher's POV.  A very obscure LP -- I've never seen another copy.  See photo for track listing.  Cover:  Poor to Fair, split along top seam, split at top and bottom of spine and 1" split at bottom right corner, ring wear, stain on blank back cover, price sticker on upper right front.  Record:  Good, light to moderate scuffs and surface marks, on gold private press label, U.S. pressing.
