Hi All, I’ve sorted out a few more choice cuts in the collection for your consideration as well as a few ‘vinyl staples’ for the discerning new entrant to vinyl collecting. For your consideration:
Title: BIG HITS - HIGH TIDE & GREEN GRASS by THE ROLLING STONES
Cat No: TXL 101 – STEREO
Issue: Original 1966 issue on the lighter blue unboxed DECCA label.
Vinyl Condition visual: EX; the vinyl has retained some of its gloss and sheen and is in very presentable shape. There are few very light scratches and only a few light handling marks, nothing that affects play I hasten to add. The disc on both sides is essentially very clean. Overall this is a very presentable copy of what is a truly wonderful collection of very strong rock songs and, as such, it is most worthy of the EX grade allocated.
Vinyl Condition Playback: The vinyl grades as VG+; very light static at the run-in, and thereafter the sound delivery is just wonderful. For most part there is no static of any note and very few audible clicks, ticks or pops; even between tracks it is virtually silent and a dream to play. Overall I would say that there is no lessening is sound quality at all - the music is delivered just fab. The vinyl sits perfectly flat on the turntable and plays through with no skips or jumps.
Label Condition: EX; lovely clean and crisp labels, no unsightly marks or notable spindle marks at all and no writing or damage whatsoever to the labels. The matt light blue labels and silver text are all vibrant and clear.
Cover Front: The front cover grades as VG+; the laminated front is in pretty good overall shape. It is essentially very clean and the central image is clear. The lamination is for most part excellent with just some very mild creases in a few places and a few mild and gentle bends. Overall it’s a decent example of this sleeve.
Cover Back: EX; the laminated back is very clean and essentially damage free. Just a few very light age related marks and minimal light rubbing in places. Inside, the gate-fold is clean and damage free, just some very mild age related light marks.
Spine: VG+; the spine is intact, clean with good lamination cover. It has retained a very good shape and the text is legible and clear; one notable ding in the spine.
Corners: VG; mildly knocked and bumped.
Opening Edge: Quite straight with some light bumps and dings from normal use. No splits or tears.
Inserts/Other: 12” x 12” stapled inner booklet is in EX condition.
Summary: When you just want to listen to some of their classics, this is the album to turn to, every ones a winner babe that’s for sure, oh that’s Hot Chocolate, what I mean is they are fab songs. It was a sheer joy to play and to listen to this again and I’m convinced the new owner will be delighted with it.
Postage: With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
