Description
Chess brothers Leonard & Phil formed ‘ America’s greatest rhythm & blues label ‘ in 1950 going on to move into their most famous studio .. 2120 South Michigan Avenue : Chicago later in the decade . They were involved in every facet of the business including the recording sessions .. usually with the involvement of bassist & songwriter Willie Dixon . Here is an outstanding single by a former hair dresser from St Louis who benefited from the Chess studio team & went on to continually be the labels biggest selling artist in all markets . Charles Edward Berry the self styled ‘ Father of Rock & Roll ‘ broke the mould with lyrics that focussed on teen life coupled with guitar riffs & showmanship that influenced every band that followed . Your chance to own a original from his classic period before a fondness for underage girls led to a spell in the county jail & declining popularity in the USA . Well cared for record that should please the most demanding of collectors & will come in an original brown sleeve from the period . Chess Records way of doing things up until the 1960’s .
