Description
ORIGINAL Decca SXL 2180/1 (2 Record SET) ED1 Wide Band PUCCINI "Tosca" MOLINARI-PRADELLI 1960
One of many quality ORIGINAL classical recordings MAINLY UK FIRST PRESSINGS I will be listing over the coming days all from a SUPERB ONE OWNER COLLECTION purchased new in the "Golden Age" 1950s-60s. I have acquired the collection direct from the gentleman's widow - they were bought from new, mostly a couple of times on highest quality equipment and recorded on reel to reel and then ARCHIVED away. I will point out any flaws (should there be any) as I individually list each one.
This one is a UK original Stereo DECCA SXL 2180/1 double record set Wide Band (ED1 label - "Original Recording" at 10 O' clock), 1960 on labels, matrix 2e, 2e, 2e, 2e. Original earliest green plastic folder with no splits or damage. Liner sleeves in excellent condition. Booklet in very nice condition with no rips or creases with dated code 59/12 (December 1959) . The vinyl is in excellent condition with only a few light marks - I test played and there was a little background static crackle on some of the quieter sections but nothing intrusive that impacted greatly, perhaps a good clean will eradicate this. On Side 2 towards the end there is a small imperfection/original flaw about 1/4 inch long in the vinyl, in effect a slightly raised vinyl line ; the stylus tracks fine through it without mis-tracking but it produces a slight background "knock", once again it didn't make much of an impact on the listening enjoyment. Please note any lines visible on the vinyl in my scans are simply light reflections and are NOT on the record. An excellent playable example of an original rare record.
Please see the other records I will be listing with many EXTREMELY RARE ones to come including original STEREO DECCA SXL ED1s, COLUMBIA SAX ES1s, HMV EW1s etc. I have painstakingly inspected every one, given the quality of the collection, and have test played some of the very high value ones. Any record selling for over £30 will be sent signed for so please wait for final invoice. Reduced postage for multiple purchases.
Owing to past problems there will be no shipping to PO Box addresses, South America, Russian Federation and Italy. Many thanks.
