Description

So often on Ebay the word "rare" is used when in reality the item is very common.  NOT SO HERE - this is a REALLY REALLY RARE ITEM.

It's an ORIGINAL programme for the famous 1933 concerts by Duke Ellington on his very FIRST UK tour.  Financed by the British Melody Maker, it brought the full Ellington band to the London Palladium & was a huge success.

This is a genuine programme from those five concerts & is in REALLY FINE condition - no tears, repairs, splits etc - just a very slightly dog-eared front & rear cover and AMAZINGLY it is complete with the loose advertising FLYER for Lawrence Wright!!!.   It's a LARGE programme - 12 inches x 9 inches (300mm x 230mm) & has 24 pages of delight with dozens of sepia photographs & details of the bandsmen & tunes  - Arthur Whetsel, Cooty Williams, Freddy Jenkins, Tricky Sam Nanton, Lawrence Brown, Harry Carney, Johnny Hodges, Barney Bigard etc etc.....

I've been collecting all my long life & I've NEVER seen another one......

This truly is a genuine piece of JAZZ HISTORY.

I'd carefully pack & post anywhere UK for £4,  anywhere abroad £8. Or you PayPal then collect from Kent.  Cash, cheque or PayPal.

See my other items for  a Boosey & Hawkes Eb, FOUR VALVE, compensated TUBA with a gig bag, a  Wills STAR Cigarettes glass ashtray, a pair of ROSEWOOD Claves, A Denis Wick MOUTHPIECE,  three ANTIQUE billiard or snooker balls in non man made material etc etc.
