Description

Hi all I’ve sorted out a few more choice cuts for your consideration as well as a few ‘vinyl staples’ for the discerning new entrant to vinyl collecting.  For your consideration we have:

Title: THROUGH THE PAST DARKLY by THE ROLLING STONES

Cat No: LK 5019 – MONO

Issue: Original 1969 issue on the RED UNBOXED DECCA Label

Vinyl Condition visual: The vinyl grades as EX-; the vinyl has retained much of its gloss and sheen. The disc is clean and presentable with the minimum of very light scratches and handling marks; there are no notable deep or ugly scratches or marks to the vinyl to report. The light marks such as they are, are all commensurate with age and grade. All in all, this is a very smart copy of this highly desirable late 60s album.

Vinyl Condition Playback: The vinyl grades as VG; almost but not quite totally silent at the run-ins, and between most of the tracks.  There is some occasional and low level/mild static, clicks/pops during play-back, more prominent between tracks 1 and 2 to both sides.  Aside from this, the playback is VG and nearly EX for large sections and the music is delivered superbly.  The vinyl sits perfectly flat on the turntable and it plays through with no skips or jumps.

Label Condition: Ex; just look at the pics.  Just a few very light and hardly noticeable spindle marks other than that there is no damage or other unwanted blemishes at all to the labels. The silver script is clean and legible – pushed to find better.

Cover Front: EX+; the laminated front is a delight and in excellent condition.  It is clean and undamaged and has retained its shape very well; you will be pushed to find one in better shape, no damage, tears or marks at all.   The central image is clear and the lamination is excellent and intact and there are no notable creases/splits whatsoever to report.   All edges are secure and all points of the hexagon shape are sharp and crisp, overall an excellent example of this very delicate sleeve. To be honest, in terms of the front, I’ve not seen better for this album.

Cover Back: EX+; the laminated back is in EX+ condition being superbly clean and damage free. There is very little in the way of age related wear showing – it’s a stunner and I have no hesitation in grading it a strong EX+.

Spine: EX; the spine is intact, clean with good lamination cover. It has retained its square shape and all the text is very legible and clear.  Pinched corners in EX shape and reasonably well defined.

Corners: EX; all 8 of them are fab.

Inserts/Other: Original RED Hexagonal MONO inner in EX condition.

Summary:  VG overall as a package, there’s just a tad too much mild static to call it EX, that said it is still a real beauty and one that I’ve owned and cherished for many years.  Good stuff like this, in this condition, doesn’t present itself too often and it’s certainly going to get more difficult to find it in the future. You truly do not come across this cover in good shape too often, and believe me, this copy is superb.  So here’s your chance to grab a fab copy of a fab album.

Postage: With regard to postage, all records will be posted in 12” Defenda- corrugated mailers so they should arrive as they left me. Finally, I offer a no-nonsense refund if you’re not delighted with your purchase, less postage of course, which hopefully provides you with sufficient confidence to take a shot, and if you do, good luck.
