ULTRA RARE SOFT CELL DEMO TAPE 100% ORIGINAL 1978 RECORDINGS IN HANDWRITTEN CASE
This is a rare opportunity to bid/obtain a tape of some very early recordings by what was called then 'The Soft Cell' - obviously they later dropped 'The' and became simply known as 'Soft Cell'. A lot of these tracks then went on to be released as 'The Bedsit Tapes' and 'Science Fiction Stories', but this is one of the original tapes they produced and handed out to try and promote their work.
This tape was given to me by Marc Almond and Dave Ball whilst I was teaching a Fine Arts Course at Leeds Poly (now Leeds University) as they were both on the course I was running and they knew about my passion for music. I wrote this on the inside of the cassette box so I had record of when it was given to me.
The cassette has handwritten tracks by the band in green ink and 'The Soft Cell' written in pink ink on the box cover / side and on the front of the cassette.
On the back of the box it states " Contact Dave........... and then the full address in Headingley, Leeds that he was living in at the time"

The cassette plays great and the recordings whilst being very early and a little raw are very clear and the quality is really pretty good.
The inner cassette sleeve is excellent. No rips or creases.
The cassette box is in great shape - just general handling wear / slight scuffs.
This is a MUST for all serious Soft Cell fans / collectors.
