Description
ORIGINATORS Chelip Chelip BOBBY AITKEN Thunderball SKA BEAT England JB 252
Originators, Chelip, Chelip b/w Bobby Aitken Group, Thunderball.
Original 1966 England Ska Beat Records 7" housed in plain sleeve, JB 252.
The disc has a small hairline fracture on the edge, but this does not reach as far as the playing area and does not affect playback or placement of stylus.
Vinyl visually VG minus. Surfaces glossy but displaying a fair few scuff marks and gentle scratches. The A (Chelip) side plays around VG, slightly noisy but this well behind the music and not obtrusive. The B (Thunderball) side plays nearer as a loud and bright cut with background noise being much less obtrusive. There are no loud ticks or clicks to either side.
There is a marker penned "A" to the B side, but being black on black this is scarcely obtrusive. Else the labels are clean, undefaced and not rubbed.
Note that this disc was somewhat grubby when I acquired it. It has been cleaned for play testing on a Knosti machine. Whilst this removed more obvious debris there is undoubtedly scope for further deep cleansing which can only result in improved sound quality.
