AIFALKN GERHNETEI / AQLI TSBET ... 7-inch, 45rpm single by OSMAN ABDURAHIM & THE ZERAI DERRES BAND. Original pressing on YARED RECORDS label (TDA 00309), from circa early '70s. Super-obscure single by the cult singer with funky backing group. Features the vocal psychedelic soul theme AIFALKN GERHNETEI with looped drum break intro / raw bassline / soulful horn section and hypnotic funky rhythms. Great for DJs. Cool R&B crossover sound too. AQLI TSBET is much more downtempo with that modern Ethiopian sound. Lovely, jazzy horn motifs / laidback organ vamps and sophisticated blues groove. Psychedelic splash/ green vinyl pressed in Greece but common for certain Ethiopian releases of the period. Original 4-prong centre intact. Very rare 45!!!
