  OUT OF DARKNESS, S/T ALBUM, UK KEY VINYL LP, PROG, 1970 Original pressing and highly collectable prog/psych gem Out of Darkness – self titled album
Out Of Darkness were formed in 1969, the various members coming from three bands, The Pilgrims, The Soul Seekers and Insight. They forged a new form of multi-cultural gospel rock music and are now seen as forerunners to spiritually influenced artists such as U2, the Alarm and Ben Harper. They were a UK ‘Gospel Blues Super Group’. This is their first and only album released in 1970. The line-up was Wray Powell (lead and acoustic guitar); Carl Grant (bass and bongos); Tony Goodman (vocals, harmonica and acoustic guitar) and Tim Anderson (drums, hammer and wirecutters).
This is a original pressing of a rare LP which is regarded as an outstanding example of late 60s/early 70s rock music and is highly collectable.

The album is on Key Records, KL 006. Matrix side one: KL 006A-3 *T (stamped). Matrix side two: KL 006B-3 *T (stamped).
Released in 1970. UK pressing. Mono.
Condition: (as Record Collector's grading system. If I see a mark it will be mentioned however light/small, including from the usual very light paper scuffs/marks - usually caused by record being removed from the inner sleeve, which appear on nearly all old records and which are only visible under strong light)
Vinyl side 1:  very good (a few very light superficial wispy marks can be seen under bright light that do not affect the audio in any way and one scuff/scrape mark over the first track that does cause 20 light clicks near the beginning of “Thank You Lord” but nothing that detracts from your enjoyment of the record, that apart plays without fault and still a great listen).
Vinyl side 2: excellent (a few very light superficial marks can be seen that do not affect the audio in any way and one very small pressing blemish that causes 2 clicks at the very end of track three, that apart plays without fault and still a great listen).
Cover (front laminated, flip-back): excellent (only a few very small light laminate creases near the edges and a bit of light wear to bottom flip-back, you would be hard pushed to find a better one! - see photos).
The record plays great with no jumps, skips, sticks or groove wear and minimal crackle.
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
